today, i was originally wearing a dress but then at the last minute, i decided that i didn’t like the way the dress felt on, so i changed. i changed into my ethnic skirt from Nordstrom B.P. and a loose army green dolman-esque top from h&m. i wore my Steve Madden over-the-knee boots. my hair was first down, then in a braid, and i ended with a ponytail. later tonight though, i’m predicting a topknot. off topic, but i can’t wait to watch psych! i wore a warrior cuff that i bought in italy two summers ago and a dome studded leather bracelet from Nordstrom, i think.. and that’s it for the outfit!

after school today, i had to stay for an extra hour to put like 100 flyers. it was ridiculous. now i have to do homework, go to the grocery store, and finishing cleaning for the frenchies because they come tomorrow! so excited!

Last Thursday night, we had an event called the BFC Mixer for all five business fraternities and our fall rush season. I decided to wear this black and white striped dress with a white ribbon in the back from Forever 21 that I bought while in Hawaii. Since it was chilly, I decided to wear black tights from Japan and my Nordstrom BP. black cardigan. I wore my pearl necklace that my grandmother in Japan gave E, J, and I. I wore DV Dolce Vita pointed all-over black sequin flats.

At this event, Phi Gamma Nu, my business fraternity, was able to raise the total number of people on our listserv to almost 400 people. We were absolutely astounded and so excited that all our hard-work was paying off. Everything that we worked for was finally being seen by everyone interested and even the other business fraternities. We had out first formal rush last night, and we’re really excited to see how the rest of this rush week goes. Look out for some pictures because I have some more outfits planned out that you’ll probably laugh when you see. I’m ready to have some fun!

This past weekend, my mother and I took a trip down to Charlottesville, Virginia to visit E at UVA. We went shopping in the Historic Downtown Mall where they had a different style Urban Outfitters and other one-of-a-kind stores unique to the area. Pictured is E to the left and me on the right. E explains her outfit in an earlier post. They have to dress up for their football games at UVA, so she looked like she was going to Sunday brunch at the Country Club all day. I wore a flower printed babydoll from Forever 21 with my coral headband from Nordstrom, AE destroyed denim shorts, and my Anthropologie shoes I got from J since her feet grew. I had my Coach purse that I got in Hawaii this summer and my Marc By Marc Jacobs sunglasses that I bought there, too! It was a rather hot day in UVA, even though it was starting to get chilly in State College already. The shopping in Charlottesville was actually very good, especially for such a small town! It’s not a city whatsoever, but they had a great variety of stores and a beautiful campus, rather hilly but still gorgeous. UVA has so much history and a story behind it all. Thirsty Thursdays. If you go to Penn State, your weekend begins on Thursday night..well Wednesday when I was a Freshman. This picture is of me and my roommates this semester in the Happiest of Valleys. We’re all a part of the Professional Co-ed Business Fraternity, Phi Gamma Nu. We rushed and pledged different semesters, but somehow, we managed to become close friends. Anyways, this picture was taken last Thursday before leaving to go to Indigo - the place to be on Thursday nights. It’s one of the only..if not only..clubs in Penn State with a dance floor and surrounding bar.
Now for the clothes, I’m second from the left, and I’m wearing a Free People lace crop-top that I bought at Nordstrom Rack this summer. I paired it with an American Apparel mini-skirt and my silver Coach wedges. I managed to braid my bangs into the side braid, too! J would be proud. To keep my hands free, I used my B. Makowsky cross-body with the silver studs. All of B. Makowsky’s purses are made with the absolute softest leather. I love my leather purses, and I went through a B. Makowsky phase because of the feel of the leather. I highly recommend checking out their line especially if you’re in need for that new fall purse. I promise you won’t be disappointed! You can check out the Nordstrom near you for a selection.

oh my god. i hate my life, first today was picture day and secondly, i wrote everything about my day with witty comments throughout it and then i click on “create post” and guess what happens? it doesn’t post and i lost everything that i wrote. since i don’t have time to explain my day, i’ll just explain my outfit.

i call it country french, those lucky few that went to france with me, know exactly what i’m talking about! my accessories for today were my usual bracelets (i think i’m going to stop listing these since i always wear them), snake ring, turquoise ring, red rock ring, forget-me-knot ring, curled hair, and a big toothy grin (corny, but i thought it was clever) for my top, i wore a cropped white blouse from Urban Outfitters with a navy tank top from Nordstrom underneath. i wore some Gilly Hicks jeggings and my boots, the statement piece to this outfit, are by Jeffrey Campbell. i purchased them from Free People and i was so excited to finally wear them and i definitely will be wearing them for a longgg time! they are a rustic beige with a lace-up detail in the front and two buckles, one on top and one on bottom. the only complaint i have is that the buckles rattle and people just stare me down in the halls. maybe they’re just jealous of my awesome boots. according to one of my friends, they’re ass-kicking boots!

i forgot about the jacket. it’s from J. Crew and i love it, it’s perfect for that day when it’s not hot, but it’s not cold

okay well, i think i might’ve jinxed myself yesterday because this morning, my mom tells me to be careful not to get anything on my shirt and of course, i look down and there’s a huge purple streak across my chest from a blackberry. seriously, this is how i start my day? greatttt. my mom worked miracles and cleaned the shirt just in time for me to wear it to school because i was too lazy to get another one. you can’t even tell where the streak was. it’s amazingg

i’ll just give you a quick excerpt of the big drama from today. i witnessed a teacher slip and fall down the stairs. then, i saw the nurse actually move, she got up and ran to the teacher. i had my first encounter with a wheelchair and it was not very good. the teacher was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, and unfortunately, i have not heard about how she’s doing. thankfully, there was no blood and she was conscious. i hope to report more about her status tomorrow, but now, i have homework to do, a fantastic way to end the day..not…

This is the outfit I wore last Thursday. It was raining and miserable outside when I left the house, but I still wanted to look decent! I decided to go with a Nordstrom BP. black and tan stripe dress. It had a frill on the front and is cinched in at the waist, but I accented it with a black braided belt from Urban Outfitters. I wore a black long cardigan over it from Uniqlo that I bought in Japan, but it was way too hot at the end of the day to keep it on. I wore my black Converse because of the weather, although I would have preferred some cute sandals or flats. To top it off, I wore my coral big-bow headband that I also bought at Nordstrom. Of course it’s obnoxious so I got looks from everyone that passed by or saw me, but who cares. Fashion is supposed to be a statement, and you have to take risks sometimes to make it all work. If we’re boring and don’t try to do something different, then we would all be the same. We were meant to be different. Don’t be afraid to accessorize by wearing different clashing colors or a crazy bold pattern. You pull it off by how you present yourself and the confidence you show. Now remember, fashion is a passion.

I wore this last Friday for the first real weekend back at school. Now, I don’t know how much y’all know about Penn State, but it’s known for being a party school so everyone dresses up to go out. I wore UO white high-waisted rayon shorts and a black one-shouldered shirt with Seychelles sandals. The key point of this outfit though was the necklace. This beautiful tasha necklace is from Nordstrom’s recent Anniversary Sale. It was a total grab. I usually wear my hair down, but this time I wore it in a ponytail to bring all of the attention to my necklace.
